Museum volunteers celebrated as a vital part of the ‘Ham Fam’

About 20 volunteers and staff recently shared part of their weekend to attend a Volunteer Appreciation event hosted at the museum.

We rolled out the bar, ordered some pizza and jumped right into what we all know best: making! Volunteer and staff attendees alike got to exercise their curiosity, skill, and ‘maker’ impulses on projects in the pressroom and at the craft table.

Attendees were able to print in the Classroom, make cutout paper ornaments, collage with  transferred historic Hamilton images, and take mini Polaroid photos of all the fun.

Together, we are all form the ‘Ham Fam’! These pins were given to volunteers to recognize their crucial role in Hamilton’s ability to fulfill our mission of preserving history for creative use today.

It was a great time to reaffirm and strengthen our connections by spending time together in a creative break from the usual flurry of daily museum tasks.

This event was a wonderful celebration and a hearty ‘THANK YOU!’ to our valuable volunteers.
