Arrange a Private Workshop

Another option is to arrange a private full-day workshop for 6-12 people. Many colleges, universities, design agencies and individual groups have done this. Please contact the museum to check dates and get more information at info@woodtype.org or call (920) 794-6272.

Private Full Day Workshop for Non-students (18+):

This full day workshop cost is $125 per person. This option begins at 9 am with a guided tour of the museum. We then teach the basics of letterpress printing on Showcard presses. Each workshop participant prints until 3 pm. Participants then clean and pack up their work, and the workshop ends promptly at 4 pm. We provide ink, type, and 25 sheets of 12"x18" paper for each person. You are welcome to bring paper of a different color, stock or size. You may have your paper delivered to the museum before your workshop, but be sure it's cut to size before shipping.

Fee: $125 per person
Duration: 7 hours
Age Level: 18 years old and older
Audience size: 6 to 12 people

Private Full Day Workshop for Students (18+) & Faculty:

This full day workshop cost is $100 per student/faculty. This option begins at 9 am with a guided tour of the museum, where students will learn about historic and decorative wood type from one of the world's largest collections, take a journey past the machines and tools that were used to manufacture wood type, and see working pressrooms where we teach and continue to produce letterpress printed pieces. We then teach the basics of letterpress printing on Showcard presses. Each student prints until 3 pm. Students then clean and pack up their work, and the workshop ends promptly at 4 pm. We provide ink, type and 25 sheets of 12"x18" paper for each student. You are welcome to bring paper of a different color, stock or size. Multi-day Workshop

If you would like to spend more time at the museum we can arrange a workshop at the museum that lasts more than one day. With so much wood type to choose from many groups want the opportunity to print for a few days or even a week. Please contact the museum staff at info@woodtype.org or (920) 794-6272 for assistance with creating your own experience.
