One of the beautiful things about wood type is the history that each piece has. Printing the back of a piece of wood type reveals a little bit of the story of that piece of type. Each one is different, from the saw blade marks to the nicks and scratches from years of use. This poster celebrates that history in a very playful way. The Hamilton Logo is created from printing the backs of the wood type blocks.
Printed two-color letterpress on Appleton Coated Utopia paper in 2 sizes. Designed and printed by Miguel Sousa at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum.
