Call for Presentations & Workshops
The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum welcomes proposals for workshops and for breakout presentations at the 17th annual Wayzgoose Conference, taking place in Two Rivers, Wisconsin from November 7-9, 2025. Wayzgoose is Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum’s annual conference where print and design experts worldwide gather to share their knowledge with type, graphic design, and letterpress enthusiasts.
The application below is for both workshop and breakout presentation proposals. The deadline for applications is May 5, 2025
The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum seeks proposals that:
- Help attendees better understand the current state or history of letterpress, graphic design or other creative spheres
- Promote the relevance of history to the field
- Has clear goals or desired outcomes
- Offer practical & relevant examples of real world situations
- Engage with attendees & encourage participation
- Encourage creativity & experimentation
- Provide new perspectives, innovations or insights into establish practices and technologies
- Amplify diverse voices & experiences
- Are applicable to a wide-range of attendees
The selection committee will prioritize presenters and topics that have not previously been given a platform at Wayzgoose and within the larger creative community.
Proposal Submission Guidelines
Proposals are due May 5, 2025 by 11:59pm CDT. You will receive a timely acknowledgment that your proposal has been received.
A Gmail account is required to access the proposal submission form.
Presentations: Proposals for 20-minute presentations will be accepted. Breakout presentations take place on Friday evening, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning.
Workshops: Proposals for full-day (6 hour) or half-day (3 hour) workshops will be accepted. Workshops should be suitable for around 15 participants. Each workshop will take place on Friday, November 7, 2025.
Based on last year's high volume of stellar proposals, this is a competitive process. The conference committee will select 5-7 breakout presentations and 3-4 workshops from the submissions.
You will be contacted in early June if your proposal is accepted. All presenters will receive a travel stipend and complimentary conference registration. Workshop instructors will also receive a teaching stipend. Conference details are at woodtype.org/wayzgoose.
