Get prepared for Really Big Prints! Design, prep, and proof your block at the museum.
REGISTRATION FOR THIS WORKSHOP WILL OPEN BY NOVEMBER 1, 2024.
If you are interested in printing a big block at the Really Big Prints! event and want to work with others in a class setting this is a great workshop for you! We will be discussing image making, tools & materials, carving strategies, and more! Each student will need to provide their own printing block and tools to participate. The class will address the special considerations, concepts, and processes of making a large print and will lead to a matrix that can be printed at Really Big Prints! 2025. We will be proofing (test-printing) your blocks as part of this workshop. There will be time outside of class to work on your blocks at the museum.
REALLY BIG PRINTS! WORKSHOP SESSIONS
Please plan to attend each of these workshop sessions. Each session goes from 10am-4pm:
April 12 - In-Person Class: Starting, Ideation, Materials & Tools
April 26 - Virtual Class: Share Visual Ideas & Discuss Process (Images due by April 22)
May 17 - In-Person Class: Putting Your Image onto the Board
June 21 - In-Person Class: Proofing the Block
July 16-19, 2025 - Really Big Prints! at Hamilton

Experience Level:
No previous experience is necessary. These blocks are quite large, so be prepared that this is a long, hands-on process using sharp tools.
Space is limited, so registration is required. We accept cash, credit card or check. Please complete the registration form using the button below to reserve your place. If you need to withdraw from the workshop: withdrawals 20 or more days before the beginning of this workshop you will receive a full refund, minus a $20 processing charge. Withdrawals 5-19 days prior to the workshop will receive a 50% refund of tuition. No refunds are possible for withdrawals 4 or fewer days in advance of the first day of class or for no-shows. Exceptions to this policy are only made for documented medical emergencies and for those who had a positive COVID-19 test within 7 days of the start of a workshop.
