This funky-cool asterisk is from the 'East' version of the 'Etta' Type Legacy font designed by Lynne Yun. These ornaments are cut by hand on a pantograph at the museum by Master Typecutter Georgie Liesch. The wood is type-high end-grain maple, ready for letterpress printing.
