We threw open the museum doors and welcomed everyone in for our 2023 Open House and Gallery Reception on June 10.
Open House visitors were able to see demonstrations of various techniques for making prints, cutting wood type, and stamping wood borders.
There were opportunities to get 'hands on' with wood type and foam plate printing.
Presses of three different sizes were in action during the event: a tiny show card press, a medium-sized Vandercook press, and a large-scale Budget One-Hour poster press used to print a 49 x 37" wood block depicting two fish.
After the Open House ended, we hosted a Gallery Reception where attendees heard about the printing techniques on display in this year's New Impressions exhibit.
It was exciting to have so many people visiting the museum and having conversations about printing, Hamilton Manufacturing, and Two Rivers history.
