In the Gallery: New Impressions 2018

The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum is dedicated to the preservation, study, production and printing of wood type. New Impressions is an international, juried exhibition to showcase exploration and creativity with letterpress printing techniques. From this age-old tradition, we strive to challenge and inspire artists to continue the love of printing. Learn more about each artist's process by looking at this year's digital catalog via pdf by clicking here or you can view it on issuu. You can also order a catalog or commemorative poster in our store.

This is the fourth year for this juried exhibition. The work is on display at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin April 17-June 30, 2018 with a gallery reception on Saturday, June 16 from 5-7 pm. There is work on display from 42 artists in 9 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Argentina, Austria, Norway, Brazil and Italy. We were honored to have three spectacular jurors: Macy Chadwick of In Cahoots Press and Residency, David Wolske of University of North Texas, and Richard Zauft of Lesley University

On June 16 we will also have the Hamilton Open House from 1-5 pm, so join us for a fun day of printing and type demonstrations.

There are many pieces from the exhibition that are for sale. Purchase work from the exhibition on our website.

Here is a peek at the work on display and some images of the process from the artists.
