“New Impressions” is an international, juried exhibition to showcase exploration and creativity with letterpress printing techniques. From this age-old tradition, we strive to challenge and inspire artists to continue the love of printing. You can order the catalog or poster to commemorate this exhibition or order both!
This design features the new typestyle, Lustig Elements, that was created by designers Craig Welsh and Elaine Lustig Cohen when they collaborated to revive a font originally designed by Alvin Lustig in the 1930s.
This is the fourth year for this juried exhibition. There is work on display from 44 artists in 9 countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Switzerland, Argentina, Austria, Norway, Brazil and Italy. The work is on display at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin April 17-June 30, 2018 with a gallery reception on Saturday, June 16 from 5-7 pm. On June 16 we will also have the Hamilton Open House from 1-5 pm, so join us for a fun day of printing and type demonstrations.
There are also many pieces from the exhibition that are for sale.
