Blackletter Sorts - German Full Face

This print is part of a series of 3 specimens of blackletter sorts from the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Collection. The type is part of a larger 2017 acquisition from the Columbia College Center for Paper Arts. The collection of sorts had not been identified, sorted into their general type styles, and printed until H.R. Buechler took up the project in early 2023, being completed in 2024.

The artist acknowledges there may be errata, but notes the process of ID, sorting, and providing record of such distinctive type as the primary goal of the project. Printing revitalizes and maintains the type's overall condition.
