Whether you are completely new or simply curious to try it, this hands-on class is a lively and welcoming introduction to the craft. Come discover the tactile joy of wood type, ink, paper, and press—and leave with prints you made yourself!

No experience necessary. The minimum age requirement for class participants for this event is 18+.

This on-site class runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and begins with an introduction to printing and the safe use of a sign press. Then the real fun begins. You will spend most of the day experimenting with printing blocks and wood type selected from the Museum’s classroom collection.
Instructors will guide you through the process, and all materials are provided. By the end of the day, you will leave with your own original prints—perfect for displaying, gifting, or sharing.
Everyone breaks for lunch at the same time. You may purchase lunch for $15, bring your own lunch and use the Museum’s refrigerator, or visit a nearby restaurant. Clean-up begins at 3 p.m., and the class concludes at 4 p.m.
Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing that may get ink on it. Because of the equipment and materials used in the pressroom, participants must be 18 years or older.
The class fee is $125 and includes all materials. Space is limited, so advance registration and a $65 nonrefundable deposit are required to reserve your place. The remaining $60 balance is due at the beginning of the class. Cash, checks, and credit cards are accepted.
