CANCELED: Letterpress Printing Perpetual Calendar Workshop

Saturday Apr. 19, 2014 All Day

THIS CLASS HAS BEEN CANCELED.

Join us for this workshop to create a one-of-a-kind letterpress printed perpetual calendar!

This is an advanced workshop, so you must have some previous experience printing, whether you've taken a workshop or two here at the museum or you've printed elsewhere. Using vintage wood type you will create a perpetual calendar that can be used year after year. Stacey Stern of Steracle Press in Chicago, IL will teach this workshop focusing on composing the page with both the positive and negative space, getting better at registration, and exploring some hand brayering techniques for a very unique printed piece. Everyone will leave with a groovy perpetual calendar that the whole class helped to make.

Stacey Stern is a stationery designer, letterpress aficionado, educator and sole proprietor of her own letterpress studio. She is the creative force and technical expertise behind Steracle Press. Stacey has been doing custom design and letterpress printing for over 10 years. She received her BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In her spare time she does non competitive roller derby for fun and fitness. Her skater name is Hell Vetica.

Space is limited, so reservations and a $65 non-refundable deposit when you sign up are required. The $60 to fulfill the full cost of the workshop will be due at the beginning of the workshop. We accept cash, credit card, or check. Because of the nature of the pressroom and the pieces being used participants in the workshop must be 18 years or older. Please fill out the registration form below to reserve your place in the workshop. If you have any questions please contact the museum at info@woodtype.org or (920) 793-6272.
