Now in its ninth year, the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum annual Wayzgoose Type Conference hosts designers, printers, typographers and letter geeks of all stripes from across the globe. Register to join us for November 3, 4 and 5, 2017. This year we have some spectacular speakers, including Gail Anderson, Jonathan Hoefler, Brian & Kim French, Brad Vetter, Carolyn Porter, Julie Sola, Jenny Wilkson, Patterson Clark and more! Friday, November 3, 2017

8:45 am -- Registration Desk Open for Hands-on Workshop Attendees
9:00 am -- Hands-on Workshops (Must be pre-registered!)

  • Typography Collage Workshop with Gail Anderson
  • H.N. Werkman Creative Letterpress Workshop with Ray Nichols & Jill Cypher
  • Paper Marbling with Kathleen O'Connell
  • Printing and Bookmaking with Julie Sola
  • Letterpress Printing with Wood Type with Peter and Donna Thomas

10:00 am -- Registration Desk Open for All Conference Attendees
2:00 pm -- Optional Hamilton Museum Tour with Bob Mueller
5:00 pm -- Presentation at the Pantograph: How is Wood Type Made? with George Liesch and David Carpenter
6:00 pm -- Cocktails and Dinner *New This Year* You must register and pay for Friday Night Dinner if you would like to join us. This meal will include:

  • basil tomato cheese torta with fresh bread
  • crostini sampler with smoked whitefish, roast carrot mousse, tuna caper spread (vegetarian, vegan)
  • heirloom salad station with colorful, abundant & local salads, vegetables, pickles, relishes, breads (vegetarian, vegan)
  • chive butter baked haddok
  • braised beef with mustard & rosemary
  • potato local parmesan gratin (vegetarian)
  • autumn vegetable penne pasta (vegetarian)
  • root vegetable pie (vegan)

8:30 am -- Breakfast open. *New This Year* Join us for a free, delicious breakfast at the museum! It will include:

  • baked strawberry french toast (vegetarian)
  • maple roast ham
  • local home fries with yukon gold, peruvian, red & sweet potatoes (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free)
  • tofu scramble (vegan)
  • chive scrambled eggs
  • zucchini muffins (gluten free) & tea bread (vegan)
  • local whole grain zucchini bread with honey butter (vegetarian)
  • housemade granola, yogurt, and local blueberry compote parfaits (gluten free, vegetarian, vegan option)

Throughout the day there are 6 breakout sessions over 3 time periods. Each speaker gives their presentation twice. Choose two to see in the morning and one in the afternoon. In the afternoon we will show Pressing On: The Letterpress Film and have a question & answer session with Erin Beckloff, the film's co-director. Morning Sessions: Session 1, 9:15-10:30 a.m. & Session 2, 10:45 a.m.-12 Noon
Afternoon Sessions: Session 3, 1:30-2:45 p.m. & Pressing On: The Letterpress Film, 3:00-5:15 p.m.
