The next fundraising challenge
We've begun a new chapter in our fundraising called the Sustainer's Fund which will help us raise $200,000 for the purchase and improvements to our new building. A huge thanks goes to Hoefler & Frere-Jones who donated $10,000 to help kick off this next phase. You can read the press release here. PLEASE consider a donation today. If you're in the creative field let your employer know we need them as well. They can contact museum director Jim Moran at Jim.Moran@woodtype.org to learn more. You can download a donation form here or click below to give online.
We need your help!
Effective April 15, 2013 Hamilton Wood Type has vacated our home in the original Hamilton buildings dating back to our founding in 1880. We are currently assembling teams of volunteers to help us with the unpacking process and you can lend a hand. You can donate to help us defray the costs and sign up for one of our crews on the calendar page. We have raised nearly $250,000 to get 30,000 sq. feet of printing history packed up and ready for a new home at 1816 10th Street.
The museum is owned and operated by the Two Rivers Historical Society, which is a 501c3 non-profit. Donations to the museum are tax deductible.
Where will my money go?
Moving Hamilton Wood Type began in November of 2012 and continue through 2013. Your donations will be used for the following:
Purchase and improvements to the new building
Staging and scheduling of the unpacking
Purchase of shelving
Purchase of storage containers
Purchase of materials to protect and store our archives
Hiring of equipment movers
Cleaning and lighting of new building
Sorting and cataloging after the move
