Hamilton Wood Type Residency at Studio On Fire
Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum is pleased to announce that artistic director Bill Moran will embark on a printing residency at Studio On Fire (SoF), in Saint Paul, MN. Studio On Fire will host Bill to work on Hamilton Wood Type projects, offer educational events in SoF's studios and continue the museum's presence in the Twin Cities.
With the closing of Hamilton Ink Spot in October of 2017, SoF principal Ben Levitz graciously offered to host the Ink Spot's presses and type collection. It also allows SoF to continue their commitment to the Twin Cities' design and letterpress communities offering programming and eduction events in their 14,000 sq. ft. studios.
"This is a great opportunity to harness Studio On Fire's reputation and printing capability to support Hamilton's mission" says Bill Moran. "We're incredibly grateful for Ben's generosity".
Hamilton Ink Spot, located in downtown Saint Paul had their lease expire in the fall of 2017 and Studio On Fire offered to continue to host the Ink Spot's collection and educational efforts. Look for exciting new collaborations between the organizations at www.woodtype.org and Studioonfire.com.
