Join us for this one-day workshop with museum Assistant Director, Stephanie Carpenter. We will explore creating patterns and textures using a variety of inking techniques, tools, and printing surfaces. This workshop is in conjunction with Stephanie's exhibition in the gallery, Kinship Patterns. You'll make one-of-a-kind letterpress prints using large wood type, patterned lino blocks, and non-traditional surfaces. We will explore both planned and spontaneous ways of creating prints to inspire future work.
The workshop runs from 9am until 5pm. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothes that may get ink on them. The cost is $125 per person with the museum providing all the materials you need. No previous experience is needed for this workshop. We will be exploring ways to play with inking and printing techniques while on press.
Space is limited, so registration and a $65 non-refundable deposit per person is required. The $60 balance is due at the beginning of the workshop. Cash, credit cards and checks are accepted.
Because of the nature of the pressroom and the pieces being used participants in the workshop must be 18 years or older. Please fill out the registration form below to reserve your place in the workshop. If you have any questions please e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 920-794-6272.
