Learn the methods and secrets behind Pressure Printing! In this one-day, virtual workshop, Macy Chadwick, will demonstrate how to create a low-relief collage to generate prints with atmospheric fields of color and texture. Pressure Printing is an image-making technique in which a flexible, textured collage “plate” is placed between the press sheet and the drum and then passed over a smooth, inked surface in the bed of the press. The highest parts of the collage “plate” will push the paper into the inked surface picking up the most ink, while the lowest parts of the collage will turn out lighter, or the white of the paper.
